Geting started
If you are reading this…congratulations! You have thought about your health AND you have decided to do something about it. That was really hard, we know. You are ready to make yourself a priority. That is great! We know this process can be scary and the little voice inside is questioning if you can really do this. You can! Here are your next steps…
- Since you are already on the computer, look around at various fitness facility Web sites, mark as favorites the ones that interest you so you can go back to them tomorrow.
- It’s tomorrow…contact (call or email) the places you've marked requesting a free consult. Remember, it might feel hard but you’re committed to a new you!
- When you receive the responses, verbal or written, take note of how you feel and this will give you a clue as to your comfort level in going to meet them. Decide which ones you would like to meet with and make the appointmentl. Don’t wait on this one! Set up the consult.
- Another really hard one…walking through the door. Remember, you only have to do this once. After that, it’s easy! Do you know what your goals are or what you want to change? If not, the Trainer will be able to help you with this through the conversation. Please take the time to note how each facility made you feel. Your comfort is so very important.
- Decision time! All the hard stuff is done! Where did you feel most comfortable and who do you feel you could work best along side? Again, don’t wait on this one. Call and set up the appointment. You are about to reinvent yourself! How exciting is that?
- Make the appointment without excuse. Remember that you are the priority. You may have to rearrange your schedule a bit until exercise finds its way into the daily routine. Your trainer will help you with this!
Please remember a couple of things:
- Always ask to see a trainer’s certifications and make note that the certifications are current.
- Always ask “around the neighborhood” about the facility and the trainer. Word of mouth is usually very reliable.
- Money can be an awkward topic for some but it is essential that both you and the trainer have an understanding about cost and payment. Remember, this is an investment in YOU!
